Israeli firms bring billions to Virginia’s economy - anchoring themselves near Congress and the Pentagon
The growing Israeli footprint in Virginia underscores how economic ties are deepening at the state level, regardless of election cycles and geopolitical tensions.
A new report from the United States–Israel Business Alliance (USIBA) has revealed that Israeli-founded companies are generating $2.3 billion in total economic output across the state of Virginia, creating 7,847 jobs and embedding themselves in a variety of its sectors.
These companies are all within minutes of Washington, D.C., and U.S. federal power centers such as Congress, the Pentagon, the CIA, and DARPA.
According to the Virginia–Israel Economic Impact Report, 119 Israeli-founded companies are operating there. Their presence spans defense, cybersecurity, logistics, agriculture, and life sciences: industries tightly intertwined with federal agencies, congressional oversight, and national security priorities.
