Hi folks,
A little news from beyond the usual podcast episodes and essays: I’ll be the MC at Fintech Week Tel Aviv 2026, hosting across both days on October 28–29.
We’ll be at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Wednesday and Herzog Tower on Thursday, bringing together people building, funding, and shaping the future of financial services. I’d love to see some of you there.
The current agenda spans AI in banking, international payments, fraud and identity protection, stablecoins, investment, and the challenges of winning customers’ trust. There will also be opportunities to hear from early-stage Israeli fintech companies about what they’re building.
If you follow The Spiro Circle, you’ll know that many of my conversations come back to the same questions: How is technology changing our lives? Who gets to make the decisions? And how much trust should we place in the systems we’re building?
For me, this is a welcome opportunity to bring that curiosity behind the podcast to the stage. Through my interviews, I have often asked people what they’re building and why it matters. Now onstage, I’ll bring that same interest in pressing for concrete examples, clear answers, and the consequences for the people using these products.
Fintech is one of Israel’s largest tech sectors, with an emphasis on fraud, payments, and insurance tech. The sector raised roughly $1.4 billion in 2025, and will surely be impacted by AI in 2026 and beyond.
Who will be there?
The lineup includes leaders from Mastercard, Neema, PayPal, Melio, Bank Leumi, Bluevine, and Checkout.com, alongside the investment community. Readers may remember my January 2026 conversation with Checkout.com’s Zack Levine about leadership and building a “family first” culture, linked below.
Between sessions, I’d love to meet readers and listeners. If you’re coming, reply to this post or comment below and let me know. If there’s a question you think the industry should be answering, send that too.
Join me in Tel Aviv:
Wednesday, October 28: Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, 2 Ahuzat Bayit Street.
Thursday, October 29: Herzog Tower, 6 Yitzhak Sadeh Street.
