A new book on President Biden 'reveals' what everyone already knew
CNN and Axios reporters are publishing a tell-all about Joe Biden's cognitive decline. The only problem? They're five years late.
Nothing represents the shamelessness of American mainstream media than an upcoming book about Joe Biden by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson.
“Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” is officially available to pre-order with the help of Penguin Press. Tapper writes on X that it will contain interviews with more than 200 White House insiders, Democrat leaders, and more.
For some people, this book will be revelatory: It will expose the story of the clandestine operation that hid an ailing man as he ran for office, settled into the presidency, and then ran for re-election - all the while being protected by aides who misled a media and a nation who never knew any better.
But for years, anyone who noted his clear cognitive decline was labeled 'far right' by the media, accused of taking part in an online conspiracy to discredit the White House. We all saw him get lost in his words and stumble over his feet; he relied on predetermined news questions and was shielded from public view. Any footage of him looking lost or confused was named a 'cheap fake', an Orwellian term coined by the press secretary in her final moments of legitimacy and relevance. Everyone in the mainstream media went along with the charade until it became too big to ignore. Only now, after it collapsed like a house of cards, is it safe to say what we all saw with our eyes and heard with our ears.
Legitimate credit should go to Thompson who did go on to break some of the more compelling stories in those final moments last summer, appearing on podcasts like Honestly With Bari Weiss to discuss his work amid the fallout following Biden’s debate performance.
But here is Tapper himself dismissing the concerns live on air:
Too many in the media were complicit in the actual 'original sin': Protecting Biden since 2020 to help remove Trump from the White House. Its failure helped bring him back four years later.
Yet it is folks like Tapper who walk away from those years with book deals like this despite their dwindling credibility. The fiasco is far from over; they will continue to try to rewrite history by making out they were never involved in the cover-up that they themselves are now writing about.
For as we are all learning: “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” The question stands now whether the mainstream media controls the present at all anymore.
